Water lifting screws
The water lifting screw, which is based on the principle of an "Archimedean screw" has been used since its invention by Archimedes (around 300 B.C.), to convey and lift liquids and fluids. Water lifting screws are very efficient and guarantee a high level of cost-effectiveness. They are particularly suitable for transporting large volumes of liquids to specific heights.
Examples of this technique, which can be found, among other places, in the Netherlands, where vast tracts of the country are irrigated by means of water lifting plants combined with windmills, invariably speak in favour of this type of plant.
