History

In 1889 Heinrich Breitenbach founded an iron foundry and machine factory in in Siegen, which quickly started to specialise in the production of ceramics machinery, specifically for the tile sector.

In the second half of the last century, HEINRICH BREITENBACH had an outstanding reputation for durable, robust machinery, which could also cope with the harshest working conditions. Many machines installed in Germany and throughout the world testify to this reliable engineering. Moreover, at that time, BREITENBACH was also the contact for SOEST-FERRUM and WESERHÜTTE spare parts.

In 1988 HEINRICH BREITENBACH GmbH & Co KG was taken over by PETERSEN MASKINFABRIK, integrated and over the course of the 90's then became independent again with a 50% share by the former Managing Director M.K. Chatterjee.

Since January 2003, PETERSEN SERVICE is a corporate partner of the REHART GROUP. Within the Group, we are responsible for the machine construction sector within the ceramics and tile industry. We develop individual and demand-led solutions from material charging to moulding and, in doing so, align ourselves to the respective needs of the market and to local conditions.
